a simple predicate agrees with the simple subject

new blog, new chapter, same life. maybe this time i'll keep up and blog often? haaa i doubt it. i'm getting ready to start college (again-ish) woohoo! so i got my associates degree in december and took a semester off. which was great for me. even though i realized i have pretty much done nothing these last 8 months. seriously. i had a list of like 35 books to read. i think i read about 3. and i lost the list. oh well. now its time to go where i was meant to be. and i cannot wait!! late-night study sessions, cafeteria food, hall bathrooms (i wanted a suite, but that didn't happen. i'm ok with that, tho. i think. all i gotta say is there better not be hair in the drain), and new friends are calling my name. know what else is calling my name? the real world. (a phrase i have never understood. has the world i've been living in the past 20 years been fake?) job. loan payments. responsibilities. love? its life. and i'm going to love it.

  1. The first reality of dorm life with which you need to come to terms: there will always be hair in the drain... or on the walls... or just on the floor. Suck it up. Grab a wad of paper towels and take care of it yourself. It will be okay. I promise.

New friends... what an interesting concept. When I left for SBC, I was so afraid to make new friends because I worried that they would make me forget about you and Jess. When I finally worked up the nerve to approach a group of girls on my hall (a group who included Ali, btw), I realized that new friends widened my horizons and made me appreciate you even more. You're in for such an enlightening experience, my dear Amie. There will be tough times, I can assure you, but you are strong enough to withstand the storm. So have fun! Take chances. Try new things, like foreign foods or different music or a dance class or something. Be crazy every now and then. Stay focused, but not too focused ;)

I just realized the first part of my comment can serve as a metaphor for college life in general. HA! I'm awesome. And so are you <3
