staying and leaving

dudes. my room is a mess. i'm trying to organize for school but its not working! i have 3 piles. trash. home. school. but unfortunately the diminutive state of my room has caused my piles to run together. gotta come up with a new system. plus, how do i NOT take everything i own? what if its a matter of life or death that i wear the worn out, faded, slightly too small ugly green tshirt that i paint in? what if i suddenly lose 10 pounds and need my skinny jeans? yes, i do need 25 pairs of shoes, 43 scarves, and 30 necklaces. oh and i can't forget 5 seasons of house and 4 seasons of bones. and yarn, in case i feel like crocheting. and what about my violin and filing cabinet full of sheet music? will i really have time to play between watching my tv shows and crocheting and, oh yeah, STUDYING!?

  1. OK, dismal reality of college #2- the chances of losing ten pounds and needing the skinny jeans are not very high. Trust me, I thought that going off to college and walking places would be great, but the sodium and fat in cafeteria food counteracts that. Sorry to burst your bubble, but it's the truth. The t-shirt, however, is a must :) You only need about one half or two thirds of the shoes, but because you are my Amie, you need all of the scarves and necklaces. House and Bones and yarn and violin are also necessary; that much sheet music, however, is not. Take the pieces nearest and dearest to your heart.

There will never be enough time for everything, dearie; you'll learn what you need and what you don't. Your first trip home will involve bringing things home and taking things back, as will almost every trip home. The key to it all, though, is learning to live with what you have <3
